About

I hold a certificate in editing from University of Washington, a graduate degree in public policy with a certificate in climate science, also from University of Washington, and a Bachelor’s degree with honors in geology-biology from Brown University. I love learning! That’s one reason I choose to edit nonfiction. 

My own writing practice and interest in the craft has led me to study personal essay, nature and adventure writing, micro essay, and memoir. My creative nonfiction work has been published in Hippocampus Magazine, Ruminate Magazine, Under the Gum Tree, and other journals. I also write journalistic pieces for some of the nonprofit organizations I volunteer with. 

Before becoming an editor, I served as a public policy project lead, which involved editing, writing, and managing communications on technical subjects like public finance, sustainability, and affordable housing for audiences ranging from taxpayers to elected officials. Earlier in my career, I managed nonprofit programs and taught students from elementary school through college in both indoor and outdoor classrooms.

I live in the Pacific Northwest. When I’m not working with words, I love to hike, garden, cook, and practice mindfulness.
